Hackney is the 11th poorest borough in the country, and no wonder. A great many of the people who live here work in poorly paid sectors of the economy, such as care services and retail.
HTUC is organising regular bi-monthly special open public meetings where we invite outside speakers to educate and inform delegates and others.
On Wednesday April 16th, the meeting will be on organising with low wage workers.
And we have speakers from two totally inspirational, ongoing and winning campaigns – Justice for Cleaners SOAS/SOAS Unison and Henry Chango Lopez of the IWGB branch will be speaking about the fantastic 3COSAS, Senate House, University of London, cleaners campaign.
The public meeting will start at 7.30pm, after the HTUC delegate meeting at 7pm.
The venue is, as always, Aspland and Marcon Community Hall, Amhurst Road, inbetween Hackney Central and Hackney Downs stations.
Please forward this to branch members and friends.
